Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium russet or Yukon gold potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Potatoes

  1. Wash and dry the potatoes.
  2. Place each potato between two chopsticks or wooden spoons. Slice thinly (about ⅛ inch apart), stopping before cutting all the way through.

Step 2: Season the Potatoes

  1. In a bowl, mix melted butter, olive oil, garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  2. Brush the mixture all over the potatoes, making sure to get between the slices.

Step 3: Air Fry

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Place potatoes in the air fryer basket, cut side up.
  3. Cook for 15 minutes, then brush with more butter mixture.
  4. Air fry for another 10-15 minutes until crispy and golden.

Step 4: Add Final Touches

  1. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese (if using) and cook for 2 more minutes until melted.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Slice Evenly: Make sure your slices are uniform in thickness for even cooking.
  • Don’t Overcut: Don’t cut all the way through; leave the base intact so the potato holds together.
  • Add More Flavor: Feel free to experiment with different seasonings like thyme, rosemary, or onion powder to enhance the flavor.
  • Check for Crispiness: If you like your potatoes extra crispy, increase the cooking time by a few minutes.

  • Use a Pastry Brush: For even coating of the garlic butter mixture, use a pastry brush to ensure all layers are covered.
