Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prep
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, sugar, salt, and dried parsley.
Step 3: Add Cheese and Wet Ingredients
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
Pour in the cold buttermilk and melted butter. Gently fold the mixture together until just combined.
Do not overmix—the dough should be slightly sticky.
Step 4: Scoop and Shape
Using a large spoon or ice cream scoop, drop 10–12 mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
Leave a bit of space between each for spreading.
Step 5: Bake the Biscuits
Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown on top and fully baked in the center.
Step 6: Prepare Garlic Butter Topping
While biscuits are baking, melt 3 tbsp of butter and stir in garlic powder, parsley flakes, and a pinch of salt.
Step 7: Brush and Serve
As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, brush the tops generously with the garlic butter mixture.
Serve warm and enjoy every bite!
Notes
Use Cold Buttermilk – Helps keep the dough light and fluffy.
Don’t Overmix – Mix just until combined to avoid dense biscuits.
Shred Your Own Cheese – Freshly grated cheese melts better and gives a richer flavor.
Bake Immediately – Once the wet and dry ingredients are mixed, bake right away for best results.
Add a Kick – A pinch of cayenne pepper in the dough gives a subtle heat.
