Ingredients
For the Chicken and Gravy:
-
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
-
1 packet (1 oz) dry chicken gravy mix
-
1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch seasoning mix
-
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
-
½ cup low-sodium chicken broth
-
½ tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp onion powder
-
¼ tsp black pepper
-
1 tbsp unsalted butter (optional, for extra richness)
For Serving (Optional):
-
Mashed potatoes
-
Cooked white rice
-
Egg noodles
-
Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Season with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
Step 2: Mix the Sauce
In a bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, ranch seasoning, and chicken gravy mix until smooth.
Pour the mixture evenly over the chicken.
Add a tablespoon of butter on top for a richer flavor (optional but recommended).
Step 3: Cook Low and Slow
Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender enough to shred.
Step 4: Shred the Chicken
Once done, remove the chicken and shred it using two forks.
Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to combine it well with the gravy.
Step 5: Serve It Up
Serve the creamy chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
Top with fresh chopped parsley if desired for a pop of color and freshness.
Notes
Don’t Overcook – Check the chicken early to avoid drying it out.
Use Low-Sodium Ingredients – Helps you control the salt level in the dish.
Customize the Texture – Add extra broth if you like a thinner gravy.
Boost the Creaminess – Stir in a few tablespoons of sour cream or cream cheese at the end for a richer sauce.
Make it a Meal – Add peas, carrots, or mushrooms in the last hour of cooking for extra nutrition.
